Park Fruit Farm orchards near Frinton-on-Sea, on the Essex - Suffolk border were planted in 1935. We grow 55 varieties of fruit:- over 40 varieties of apples, 10 varieties of plums and damsons, 4 varieties of pears, and 1 variety of each raspberries and blackberries. We are a medium size farm, and a family farm which is now into the third generation. We are very well known locally since we have a busy farm shop, where we sell the majority of all the fruit grown on the farm and many other farm products.
The shop is part of the pack house so you may often see the grader being worked and apples being sorted as they come in from the orchards, or put into the cold store.
We press our own apple juice which is available straight from the press, it is pure and untreated, unlike any other apple juice you will find in the shops. When you visit the farm, you may try the different apple juices that have been pressed on the day or the day before. You are also welcome to see the pressing. For more information see the apple juice page.
We have all the different apple varieties available to taste before you buy, as they come into season.
The farm is open nearly all year. If you wish to walk around the orchards during blossom time April, May, or at any other time...please ask at the shop.
The Plum Orchards are generally open from mid July through to October, for Pick Your Own Plums. The cane fruit orchard is open from August through to November.
The farm can be reached by car, or there are plenty of short cuts by foot or by bicycle. It is about ½ mile from the nearest bus stop and train station. See the map page.
For a full description of all the fruit varieties, Pick Your Own, and ready picked availability, please see the fruit varieties page.
We press our own apple juice several times each week, which is sold, fresh straight from the press.
We make our own pure cider from our apples which is available to taste in the shop.
Pure cider vinegar is made from our fresh apple juice, and is very popular, having a good flavour for salads and as a marinade ingredient.
Fresh vegetables grown on a local farm in Beaumont are available in our farm shop, as are garden plants propagated at a local nursery.
Honey sold in the farm shop is produced by a local beekeeper whose hives are brought on to the farm during pollination time.
The farm is very near to the coast, near Walton-on the naze, Frinton-on Sea, Harwich and Clacton. If you are visiting the area, and you are interested in English Apples, Orchards or farms - please call in.
